Psychology Clinic



The UB Psychology clinic offers free psychological services to children, adolescents and adults in the community. We offer a range of evidence–based psychological assessments and psychotherapies. Group therapy programs are also available from time-to time.

The clinic is a training facility for the Bachelor of Psychology (B.Psych.) program. It is staffed by psychology trainees under the supervision of experienced psychologists. 
Our Services 
We offer assessment and counselling on issues pertaining to:
Personality and mental health and related problems such as anxiety, depression, and eating disorders
Work related and other stressors
Emotional adjustment
Substance dependence
Family and relationship problems
Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse
Personal growth (e.g. enhancement of assertiveness, self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-awareness)
Learning, emotional and behavioral problems in children and adolescents
Developmental and attachment related problems

Services not offered
As we are a training clinic, certain counselling and psychological services are not offered.
  • We are not able to offer crisis management and emergency services.
  • We are also unable to provide services to clients with
    • (a) history of chronic mental illness and/or active psychotic symptoms
    • (b) active drug and/or substance dependence or abuse
    • (c) acute suicide risk.
  • We also do not provide services to clients with compensation claims, medico-legal issues and clients undergoing family court proceedings. These issues need to be managed in more specialised settings.
